Someone's been underrepresented around here

Hi. My name is Sawyer.

This is my hand.

This is my foot.

Aren't I beautiful.

Milestones

Finn:

Turning 3 means Finn can now pretty much dress himself. The other day he stripped naked, ran away, and came back fully clothed. He had picked out a shirt and pants and put them on all by himself. Including a diaper! He's also able (but not so willing) to put his shoes and socks on by himself.

Finn has graduated from the parent/tot swim classes and is now very proud to be a Jellyfish. Jason was sure that Finn would have a melt down at the pool when he found out that Jason would not be swimming with him this time. I wasn't the least bit worried. The kid did great. Not a tear or a frown. Here he is swimming with the instructor while holding on to a floating barbell thing.

Here he is, with his partner in crime, practicing kicking after the instructor expressly asked them not to do that while he was working with another student.

Here he is with his tongue hanging out. That kid.

Sawyer:

Sawyer has started saying dada. Here's a video of him chattering away. He has also started teething. But I will spare you the drama.

Thanks Mom

Thanks Mom. It was thirty something years ago today at precisely 11:11 am that you popped out a 9 lbs 5oz baby girl. Me. Thankfully I have no memory of that.

But I do have memories of backyard birthday parties with Karol dressed as Minnie Mouse (the entertainment), angel food cake with vanilla frosting, a birthday spanking for each year of my life plus one for "good luck" and a "pinch to grow an inch" (guess all that pinching worked), waiting until after dinner to open presents (some families do it in the morning, you know), making a wish before blowing out the candles, re-blowing out the candles because we didn't get a picture on the first attempt, my 12th birthday when Eric gave me 12 sheets of binder paper (or maybe it was 14 on my 14th), the bronzed nickel from Kurt, when Steve and his buddies found a ball outside of Lakeside Presbyterian and brought it home for me (I don't even think that was my birthday but it certainly felt like it was), my 13th birthday when Dad declared I was officially a teenager in age and attitude, celebrating my 18th birthday at an Earth Day concert in Golden Gate Park, birthday brunches/luncheons at the Olympic Club and most recently our birthday trip to the zoo.

So, thanks Mom and Happy Birth Day.

Farm Birthday Party

We celebrated Finn's 3rd birthday at Emma Prusch Farm Park. Lots of running, playing and hanging out with the farm animals. I apologize that I did not take more photos of Finn and his buddies. If anyone has more photos please send them along.

Pre-party wardrobe malfunction. Got make sure the shoes are on the right feet.

My little 3 monster and his farm themed cake.

Chicks and sheep. Just like on the farm.
Sawyer with his GrandMommas.

Uncle Adam and Auntie Karol showed up in coordinating outfits with the birthday boy. Random.

Nora and Finn checking out the hen and her baby chicks.
